The Fisher Cat is a member of the weasel family and is sometimes known by other names including black cat or the pekan cat. They live mainly in the forest in the continent of North America. The sound of a Fisher cat is very shrill and resembles someone calling for help. The shrillness lends a certain high pitch to the sound and makes it sound like a woman or a child. Most people who hear the Fisher cat call for the first time are fairly convinced that they are hearing a human calling out for help.
